Health Permits for Food Establishments and Day Care Centers

Introduction

The City of Huntsville Health Inspections Division is responsible for conducting recurring inspections on all food service establishments within the City of Huntsville. These inspections are in accordance with State and local laws designed to protect the health and safety of the public.

Apply for a Permit

All permit applications must be dropped off at the City Service Center [Map to location]

• Application for a permit to operate a permanent food establishment or day care
• Application for a permit to operate a temporary food establishment
• Application for a permit to operate a mobile food establishment

Fees

• Pre-opening inspection fee for new or remodeled food establishments: $60.00
• Mobile restaurant permit fee: $18.00
• Temporary restaurant registration fee: 18.00 (if open for more than 3 days or more than once every 3 months)
• Re-inspection fee: $55.00
