  1. Diabetes Self-Management Workshop

    December 17, 2018, 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM

    These two-hour workshops begin at 10:30 a.m. on Mondays from November 12 through December 17 at Staggs Community Room in the Huntsville Public Library and are focused around self-managed care for Diabetes. Sponsored by Texas A&M Center for Population Health & Aging and hosted by Huntsville Public Library, they are designed to help participants deal with the symptoms of Diabetes, such as fatigue, pain, stress, and frustration. Other topics covered include healthy eating, medication use, and working with healthcare providers. Limited to 16 participants, classes are hands-on and highly interactive. Cecilia “Ce” Schlicher, Master Trainer, and works under the Texas A&M Center for Population Health & Aging license.

  2. Free Google Docs Classes

    Tired of losing unsaved work? Do you want to access your documents on any computer? Come explore how Google Drive’s free, web-based word processor can help. Register for the Google Docs classes hosted by the Huntsville Public Library. Classes will be held in the library’s Nash Board Room. Morning classes are from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and Evening classes are from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays in December. This class will teach how to upload, create, edit, and share documents using Google Docs. Class size is limited and registration is required. It is preferred for individuals signing up to have a Google Gmail account setup prior to class and be familiar with using the Internet, keyboard and mouse. A library card is required to participate in the classes. If you don’t have a card bring your ID! Adults 17 and older can register for classes.

    Get into a festive spirit at the Huntsville Public Library’s Family Cocoa Storytime. All ages are invited to enjoy stories read by the Arrendale Princess, hot chocolate, and a craft at 10:45 a.m. on December 19 in the Staggs Community Room. Registration is not required but space is limited.

The Huntsville Public Library will be offering Homework Help for elementary and junior high school-aged students in math on Wednesday afternoons from 4:30-6 p.m. in the Nash Board Room. Participants can use library laptops or ask a library staff member for help. Registration is not required.

  5. STEAM day: DIY Snow

    December 21, 2018, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ Library

    Children’s Coordinator Rachel McPhail predicts a 100% chance of “snow” at the Huntsville Public Library at 4 p.m. Friday, December 21 in the Staggs Community Room. Elementary aged students are invited to participate in the library’s “STEAM day: DIY Snow” in which participants will mix various household products to make fake snow. Registration is not required but space will be limited.
