Colonel Mickey S. Evans
(USA, Ret.) was elected to his current position on May 2006. He graduated from Huntsville High School in 1962 and Sam Houston State University in 1966 with a degree in chemistry and a commission in the United States Army through the ROTC program. He served 26 years on active duty and 4 years with the Louisiana Military Department prior to returning to Huntsville in 1996. He is also a graduate of Kansas State University and the United States Naval War College. He is an active volunteer in numerous community organizations. His wife of 37 years, Linda (Ryan), also from Huntsville, is a first grade language arts resource teacher at Scott Johnson Elementary School. They have two daughters and three grandchildren.
