Citizens and visitors to the City of Huntsville enjoy an array of parks and recreational opportunities. The City currently has 23 parks comprised of over 240 acres including community parks, neighborhood parks, mini parks, walking trails, natural areas, and beautiful open spaces.
Aquatic Center
Huntsville’s aquatic center facility features a zero depth recreation leisure pool with a tube slide and other play elements, an eight competition pool and a picnic area. Click

Huntsville State Park
The Huntsville State Park is a heavily wooded park that adjoins the Sam Houston National Forest and encloses the 210 acre Lake Raven.
The park offers:

- Boating (Motor size unrestricted; speed is limited to idle speed)
- Camping
- Canoe and Paddle Boat Rentals
- Fishing
- Guided Horseback Trail Rides With Horses Provided by 2E Stables
- Hiking (Home of the 105 Mile Lone Star Hiking Trail)
- Nature Study
- Swimming (Unsupervised by lifeguards)
Entrance fees are $5 daily for adults and children 12 years and under are free. Park hours are open 7 days a week year round from 7 a.m. - 10 p.m. except during public hunts. Nearby attractions include Lake Livingston State Park, Fanthorp Inn State Historic Site, and Sam Houston National Forest.
