The Wynne Home Arts and Visitor Center has several events planned for Huntsville for the Holidays, including the annual A Wynne Home Nutcracker, set for December 3-8, in collaboration with Nicolay Dance Works.
Residents will be immersed in an intimate experience of the Nutcracker story inside the Wynne Home, 1438 11th Street. Everyone in attendance will take part in the Christmas party, witness the battle of the Mouse King and Nutcracker, and travel through the Snow Scene to the Land of Sweets.
Performances will take place at 5, 6, 7, and 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, December 5th and 6th, and at 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, December 7th and 8th.
The annual Gingerbread House Contest and Reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 30, with the awards ceremony set for 7 p.m. During the reception, guests will learn fun techniques for cutting paper snowflake decorations.
Cider on the Porch begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, December 1, until the end of the Christmas parade. Hot apple cider will be served by staff and Friends of the Wynne Home.
The Wynne Home will also host a Christmas Open House from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, December 2. Guests are sure to love touring the Wynne Home, which will be decorated for the Christmas season, while enjoying refreshments and entertainment.
