Celebrate the Wynne Home
Turning Ten! 

The Wynne Home Arts and Visitor Center's 10th Anniversary Celebration is on Saturday, November 19 from 11am to 2pm. Come join the celebration, there will be BBQ cooked by the Huntsville Fire Department, potter's wheel demonstrations, face painting, and more. The event is free and open to the public. City Election Results 

Unofficial City election returns are available on the City Secretary Elections page at www.huntsvilletx.gov/Elections.

The City Council conducted their official canvass on November 17. Please join us on Tuesday, December 6 at 5pm to thank outgoing Councilmembers Montgomery and Johnson and welcome incoming Councilmembers Loll and McCaffety. The new Councilmembers will be sworn in at the 6pm meeting that evening. 

 

Holiday Solid Waste & Recycling Closures

The City of Huntsville Solid Waste Transfer Station and Recycling Drop-Off Center will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25.
The facilities will also be closed for the Christmas holidays on Friday, December 23 and Monday, December 26. Please check the City website homepage in December for information on Christmas tree disposal pick up schedules.These closures include all residential and commercial pick-up.

Town Creek Construction Updates 

The City of Huntsville’s Town Creek Drainage Project Phase II is adding a work area on Avenue N between 10th and 11th Streets. The closure will begin soon and will continue until early 2017. 11th Street Water Line Replacement Project

The 11th Street Water Line Replacement Project began Monday, November 7. This project consists of replacing an old and deteriorated 6" waterline along 11th Street from University Avenue to Avenue G.
