Winter in the Park and Downtown Christmas Fair Rescheduled

Lions Club Christmas Parade Rescheduled 

The Lions Club Christmas Parade has been moved from December 3 to December 17 due to the weather forecast. The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 17 and the route will remain the same.

A Wynne Home Nutcracker 

Children and their parents will be immersed in an intimate experience of the Nutcracker story from inside the Wynne Home. You will attend the Christmas party, witness the battle of the Mouse King and Nutcracker and travel through the Snow Scene to the Land of Sweets! 

Performances from Nicolay Dance Works will take place at the Wynne Home December 6-10, from 6 - 9 p.m. with a show every hour. Purchase your tickets here

Letters to Santa

Huntsville Public Library will be accepting Letter to Santa again this year! Starting November 28 through December 16, children of all ages can visit the Huntsville Public Library and deposit their letters in the special box. It will be located in the Children's Department.

It's time to "winterize" your sewer charge

Water meter usage for the months of November through February  is used to calculate your new sewer average charge for the next year.  Consciously reducing your water usage during these months could lower your sewer charge. A method to reduce usage includes limiting or completely eliminating outside watering. The new sewer average charge will be effective with the April billing (due in May). READ ON...

Town Creek Closure on Avenue N

The City of Huntsville’s Town Creek Drainage Project Phase II is adding a work area on Avenue N between 10th and 11th Streets. The closure began November 29 and will continue into early 2017. 

Drivers will still have access to the Smither, Martin, Henderson, and Blazek Law Offices. The U.S. Post Office and the Huntsville Item will remain accessible from their 10th Street entrances. READ ON...

Sam Houston Statue Holiday Open House

The Sam Houston Statue and Visitor Center has officially welcomed the Christmas season with their annual Holiday Open House that was held on November 29. The Christmas tree was up, there were holiday treats and the gift shop was open late to help guests do some holiday shopping. Santa even stopped by to take pictures and ask for last minute Christmas lists. READ ON... 


Citizens Police Academy

The Huntsville Police Department is currently accepting applications for the Citizens Police Academy. Applications will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016 and are available for pick up in the HPD lobby.CPA classes will meet every Monday night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Class begins January 23, 2017 and will run through May 1, 2017. READ ON...
