Home Sweet Huntsville!

At the March 7 City Council meeting, the City welcomed a very special guest to lead the pledges - Sharon Holland from Iganga, Uganda, Africa. She was adopted by Ken and Nicole Holland, and came to the U.S. and Huntsville in April of 2014. That will be three years next month! Sharon is 12 years old and is in 6th grade at Huntsville Intermediate School. Sharon traveled to the U.S. as an immigrant after the Hollands gained legal guardianship in Uganda. After being home for six months, the Hollands finalized her adoption here in Walker County in October of 2014.

The process to gain all of her legal citizenship paperwork concluded this past month as she obtained her official Certificate of Citizenship from the U.S. Immigration Service.

Sharon was accompanied at the council meeting by her older brother, Jake, and younger sister, Paige! We are so happy for Sharon and glad she was able to settle here in Home Sweet Huntsville

Enjoy music and having fun with your family and friends in a location you'll likely never get to enjoy in this way again!

The event will be on March 27 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., on Sam Houston Avenue between 13th and 14th Streets. Construction will begin that evening at 7:00 p.m. For more information, call 936-291-5413.
