  1. Art Contest

    The Huntsville Public Library Friends’ Art Contest will be held during Summer 2019. This year’s theme is “Heroes and Villains.” The contest is open for all five through 18 year olds and fifteen winners will be selected. Correctly filled out submission forms are required to be eligible as is artwork that adheres to the submission guidelines. The deadline to submit your artwork is Monday, August 12. Winners will be announced in September.

  2. Frances Sprott Goforth Memorial Genealogy Weekend

    August 2, 2019, 9:30 AM - 7:00 PM

    The Huntsville Public Library and the Walker County Genealogical Society will host the 7th annual Frances Sprott Goforth Memorial Genealogy Weekend on August 2nd and 3rd, 2019. On-site registration for “Believe It or Not? – How to Verify Research” will begin at 9:30 a.m. for both days at the Huntsville Public Library. Programs will be presented from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.on Friday, August 2 and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 3. A light supper will be provided on Friday. The library will remain open until 8 p.m. for further research for attendees only. A silent auction of books and genealogical materials will be held during the weekend and will end at 1:00 p.m. Saturday.

  3. Story Time

    Story Time is a fun early literacy program for kids 5 and under at the Huntsville Public Library. Join us for interactive stories, songs, rhymes, and crafts three times a week in the Staggs Community Room. The early literacy practices featured each week help build the foundation for a lifelong love of reading and learning. Story Time offers caregivers and parents an opportunity to experience early literacy practices in action, discover great books and resources for home use, and socialize with other parents after Story Time. There is something new each week! Sign-up is not required. Story Time is held on Tuesday evenings, Wednesday mornings, and Friday mornings.
