  1. Free Adult Literacy Tutoring

    January 7, 2020, 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM @ Library

    Free walk-in tutoring sessions are available at the Huntsville Public Library for adults (18+ years old). This tutoring program helps with English reading, writing, and speaking skills and preparation for the GED® (high school equivalency test). Walk-in tutoring sessions are on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointment required for sessions Monday through Friday. Saturday by appointment only.

  2. Sittercise

    January 7, 2020, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Library

    Get fit while you sit with Sittercise! It’s an exercise program offered from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Huntsville Public Library in conjunction with Huntsville Memorial Hospital. Sittercise is designed to help those who are aging and/or dealing with chronic and other illnesses. It focuses on strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, endurance, and overall improved function. Please consult your doctor before starting any new exercise program. Liability waivers are required to participate and are available from the instructor. The class is free and open to adults ages 18 and older.

  3. Basic Computer Classes

    Make your New Year’s resolution mastering computer skills with help from the Huntsville Public Library. Register for our free Basic Computer Classes held from 11 to 12 p.m. on Tuesdays in January at the Huntsville Public Library. These classes will discuss using the mouse, typing, emailing, and Internet browsing. Class size is limited, and registration is required. A library card is needed to participate in the classes. If you don’t have a card, bring your ID. Adults 17 and older can register for classes.

  4. Story Time

    Story Time is a fun early literacy program for kids 5 and under at the Huntsville Public Library. Join us for interactive stories, songs, rhymes, and crafts three times a week in the Staggs Community Room. The early literacy practices featured each week help build the foundation for a lifelong love of reading and learning. Story Time offers caregivers and parents an opportunity to experience early literacy practices in action, discover great books and resources for home use, and socialize with other parents after Story Time. There is something new each week! Sign-up is not required. Story Time is held on Tuesday evenings, Wednesday mornings, and Friday mornings.
