    Huntsville Public Library invites parents and PreK through Elementary School aged children to come visit with some of our local law enforcement officers as they share information about their careers and how they help keep our community safe. Law Enforcement Week begins Monday, June 13 with a visit from a Walker County Sheriff's Department Deputy. Learn more about Huntsville’s Police Department and what it takes to be a police officer on June 14.  On June 15, you can learn about the Huntsville Fire Department and what it's like to be a firefighter. A fun, information packed presentation by the U.S. Forest Service on June 17 rounds out the week.  Presentations start at 3:00 pm each day so be sure to mark your calendars and join us for Law Enforcement Week at your favorite public library!

    Greetings, space cats! Are you looking for a fun, social activity that lets you practice your reading skills? Mission Accomplished at Huntsville Public Library! Whether you like funny cats, space battles, magical kingdoms, or just relatable stories about real kids, there will be something for you! At each book club meeting, you can enjoy fun crafts and activities related to the story. The Early Readers Space Cats Book Club will meet weekly at 4 p.m. on Monday, June 13 and 27. Children between the ages of 6 and 10 are welcome to attend. Selections will include books such as Binky the Space Cat and Narwhal and Jelly. Titles do not need to be read before the start of each meeting.
