  2. Book a Dog: Reading with Pets with a Mission

    Wagging tails plus happy readers! Come to “Book a Dog,” a literacy initiative held in collaboration with Pets with a Mission and Huntsville Public Library. This program will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, June 12 in the Rex Children’s Room of Huntsville Public Library. Two animal teams from “Pets with a Mission'' will be at the Library for quick one-on-one reading sessions with trained therapy dogs. This program is best suited for ages 5 to 12. No sign-up is required as the dogs will be available on a first come, first served basis for one hour. Signed waiver forms are required to participate.

  2. Film Showing at The Wynne Home

    Join us on Monday, June 12th at 5:30 for a showing of “Lions, Parakeets, and Other Prisoners”. This docu-drama depicts the creative writing workshops Grady Hillman taught through 1981-1984 at the Walls and Wynne Units. Hillman will be signing and selling his new book "Arts in Corrections: Thirty Years of Annotated Publications" for $35 after the showing of the film. A portion of these sales will be donated to The Wynne Home. We hope to see you there!
