Google Docs Classes

Tired of losing unsaved work? Do you want to access your documents on any computer? Come explore how Google Drive’s free, web-based word processor offers all this and more. Register for the Google Docs classes hosted by the Huntsville Public Library. Classes will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 12, and Tuesday, September 19 in September. This class will teach how to upload, create, edit, and share documents using Google Docs. Class size is limited and registration is required. It is preferred for individuals signing up to have a Google Gmail account set up prior to class and be familiar with using the Internet, keyboard, and mouse. A library card is required to participate in the classes. If you don’t have a card bring your ID! Adults 18 and older can register for classes.

Information regarding available insurance plans for those eligible for Medicare can quickly become overwhelming. Huntsville Public Library will host an informational session at 11:00 a.m. on every third Tuesday of each month, in the Nash Board Room. Join industry specialist Keri Harvie to learn more about your options and the details of the various programs.

Teen Ambassadors

Teen Ambassadors is a program for teens who want to be leaders. Ambassadors earn service hours and help to lead and design programs. Ambassadors can also work in the Children’s Room, read to children, and assist patrons. This program accommodates several different interests. Applications are required for those interested in joining. Ambassadors meet weekly on Tuesdays at 4:00 p.m. September dates are September 5, 12, 19, and 26. This program is suggested for ages 11-18.
