James Barnes has been with the Police Department since 1994. He has B.S. from Sam Houston State University, went to Leadership Command College at Bill Blackwood LEMIT, is an instructor and a TCOLE Master Peace Officer.
He has held the following positions: Patrol Officer, Neighborhood Bike Officer, Field Training Officer, Detective, Patrol Sergeant, CID Sgt., Uniformed Services Lieutenant, and SWAT Team Supervisor.
