Libby
Huntsville Public Library offers downloadable eBooks, audiobooks, and streaming video! Library cardholders may search for and enjoy  these books and movies on a mobile device, e-reader, computer, or tablet for free!

What’s an ebook?

It’s an electronic copy  of a book that can be downloaded with an Internet connection to a computer or e-reader. Available 24/7with no fines, this is a resource that is available even if the library is closed.

How does it work?

There are two apps or websites that you may use to access the books and movies. Our patrons may use Libby. Simply browse for the title you want and download it. You may enjoy the item for two weeks before it is automatically returned for you.

How much does it cost?

Nothing! The service is free to Huntsville Public Library cardholders, and there will never be any late fees.

What will I need?

  • A device to read the items such as a computer, e-reader, smartphone, tablet.  Kindle or iPod.
  • A Huntsville library card.
  • The 4 digit PIN number you selected when you received your library card.
Are there any special features I should know about? Absolutely! You can change the font size, background color, and even select a font that better suits your needs, which may be a handy tool for dyslexic readers. Additionally, you can place items on hold and even request new eBooks to be purchased by the library. To fill out a purchase request, click here.
